We are delighted to invite KTJ parents, guardians, and families to a special Parent Workshop led by renowned education expert, Tom Sherrington, on Thursday 20th March 2025. 

This interactive workshop will feature tailored 1.5 hour sessions for both Primary and Secondary parents, offering insights and strategies to enhance your child's learning journey. You can choose to attend one session or both, depending on your preference.

Primary Workshop: 8.30 am - 10.00 am 

Parents who attend the Primary Workshop can expect to learn more about the following topics:

• Elaborative questioning techniques that can help learners unpack big ideas
• How self-quizzing can be a powerful tool to support memory
• Practical ways to support Primary learners at home.

Secondary Workshop: 10.30 am - 12.00 pm 

Parents who attend the Secondary Workshop can expect to learn more about the following topics:

• Simple ways parents can incorporate retrieval strategies at home
• Spaced Practice: Strategies parents can use to help their children revise effectively over time
• Practical ways parents can encourage time management and goal-setting.

Both workshops include a 30-minute Q&A session with Tom Sherrington, plus complimentary light refreshments. A Mandarin and Korean translator will be available during both sessions. 

About Tom Sherrington

Tom Sherrington is an accomplished educator and former Headteacher from the UK with over 30 years of experience. Over the past year, he has collaborated closely with KTJ’s Academic Team, delivering impactful training on WalkThrus Professional Development.

Tom is also the author of the newly published book, Learning WalkThrus: Students & Parents, a visual guide that empowers parents to support their child’s education. This invaluable resource includes over 70 practical, five-step techniques to improve learning and study habits both at home and in school.
