From Students to Staff: Alumni Making an Impact at KTJ

Six KTJ alumni are now part of our staff team, bringing their experience and passion back to the School.

We are proud to celebrate the six alumni who have returned to serve the School in a range of important roles, strengthening the bond between past and present generations of our community.

Two alumni have joined as Graduate Assistants, bringing fresh perspectives and energy to academic and co-curricular life. Darshini Vijayndra and Eizat Firdaus both returned to KTJ this academic year. Their return marks a full-circle moment as they support students in the very environment that once shaped them. These are new roles in the KTJ Community that are already proving to be a positive addition for both students and staff within the school.

Alumna Katharine Xin Yi Tay returned in 2024 after graduating from the University of Nottingham Malaysia and is teaching Maths. She says it’s been rewarding to reconnect with the school community from a new perspective as she begins her teaching career.

In addition, two alumni have taken on the role of House Coordinators, playing a vital part in nurturing the pastoral wellbeing of our boarding community. Irena Georgia De Filippou, returned to KTJ in 2024 as the House Coordinator for Nadzimuddin House, and Amirah Marina binti Mohamad Nor, joined in 2025 for Naquiah Boys House. Their own experience as former students allows them to connect with boarders in a meaningful and empathetic way.

Completing the group is an alumna Dr Kumudhini Selva Kumaran, who has returned as a School Doctor, providing essential care and medical support to students and staff.

A wonderful testament to the enduring strength of the KTJ community is that three of these returning alumni now have children enrolled at the School, continuing the KTJ legacy into the next generation.

Their collective return highlights the strong sense of belonging and loyalty shared by our alumni, who continue to enrich the School with their expertise, passion, and commitment.
